  • What is the difference between your services and Accountants?

    Bookkeeping, Management Accounting and Tax Accounting seem really distinct to us, but we can see that from a business side - it's often confusing. In addition, many practices do more than one thing! At Talo Financial we are qualified licensed bookkeepers, BAS Agents and Public Accountants - but we are not Tax Agents - in easy terms - we don't handle anything to do with Income Tax (business or personal) and a few other tax agent related services. Instead we work with awesome partners who focus on that skill set. We work around the transactional elements of your business, regular compliance and in forecasting and accounting for Growth!

  • How many Financial Advisors do I need?

    Businesses change needs as they grow. How much advice and from who will change over time. In addition, the skills sets and knowledge base of the team changes. Large businesses have many different types of financial advisors, accountants, CFO, wealth & strategy consultants.


    Small businesses usually start with a tax accountant - for business set up and income tax. Over time, they need bookkeepers, BAS Agents (for transactional tax like GST), payroll specialists, business strategists, CFO's, cost accountants, management accountants, financial planners and other aids.


    Whatever stage you are at - we offer a free no-obligation consultation - so you can discuss your size, where your business growth is, what your existing skill set is and where your business needs support. Part of our bespoke service, is using our skills to assist business to grow - where they need us.


    We also work with a variety of awesome service providers in finance and accounting and are happy to refer you to them when those are the skills you need instead or in addition.

  • Do I have to use Xero?

    The businesses we work with don't have to use Xero specifically, but we do like all businesses to be streamlined and reducing as much manual entry as possible. Some businesses are better suited to other softwares, so we do work with others. However for us, Xero is a core component of our practice management tools (the other stuff BAS Agents & Tax Agents do) and that means we know it better, are more competent at it and just provide better all round service.

  • Can I just order what I need?

    Our services are bespoke - that means that we get to know you in our free consult and get an idea of what things will help your business - so essentially - you order what you want to see.

  • Can you train me to do it myself?

    We do offer 1:1 training in softwares and elements of bookkeeping and payroll for business owners or internal staff.
